Sports Quilt Delivered to Ronald McDonald House

Our recently finished Sports Quilt was delivered to the Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola, FL on August 22.  The ladies in the office were so excited to receive this beautiful quilt.  They came out to look at each stitched square.  The sports squares were stitched by ladies from all over the world and the quilt was finished by one of our very talented quilters, Bonnie C.  RMH took photos of each individual square and the entire quilt and posted them on their Facebook page.

Here is what RMH had to say:
"Thank you for sharing in the spirit of generosity with Heather and Abigail through your support of the Ronald McDonald House with your donation of the handmade quilt."

If you have some free time to stitch and want to help a child or a senior, please join us here at World of Charity Stitching.  We would love to have you.

The Smiles Say It All

The pile of quilts recently finished by Bonnie C.
Bonnie C., our prolific quilter, had this to say about all the comments and praise about the finished quilts:

"Thank you all for your kind comments on the quilts... I am just so happy to be a member of this group.  I try my best to make sure that each quilt is a little bit different, and one that our members are proud to have had a part in making. I love seeing the squares as they come in and when the assembly process starts I love watching as the quilts take shape.  I also know that these quilts will bring smiles to many and then there are the ones who will tear up as they can not believe that we have taken the time to make something so beautiful for them.  Many of the seniors are forgotten by their family or friends, we make sure they are remembered. Our quilts are security to a frighten child, friendship to a lonely senior, comfort and warmth to a cancer patient, and a sense of accomplishment to all who work on making it. Our quilts are not only made with needle and thread, they are made with laughter, tears, joy, friendship, prayers and love. With all the good things that go into our quilts it is easy to bring them to life."

Beautiful Quilts

These beautiful quilts were stitched, sewn, and quilted by members of our group.  They will be donated to a nursing home for senior citizens; and the sports quilt will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.

The squares stitched by members are amazing and the ladies who sew and create the quilts are so talented.  We are lucky to have these very special ladies who give their time, talents, and love to this very special cause.

The scroll squares stitched in this quilt is a design created especially for World of Charity Stitching by one of our members, Kell Smurthwaite of Kincavel Krosses.  Kell has a lot of free charts/patterns that she likes to share with others and we are fortunate to have her as a member of our group.  Thank you Kell for your generosity.

These Snowglobe squares stitched by our members were charts donated to our group by Virginia of Vee and Company.   Thank you Virginia for your generosity to our group.

Quilts for Aurora Colorado Tragedy

Jean, a lady who makes quilts, is organizing a drive to make 300 quilts for the first responders and the families of the victims of the recent tragedy in Aurora, Colorado.

If you’d like to help, please go to Jean’s blog or FB page and start quilting!

Our group, World of Charity Stitching, has donated one of our completed lap quilts for this great cause.  It is a Hearts and Flowers quilt, stitched by members from all over the world and quilted by one of our talented quilters, Bonnie.   The quilt was mailed to the Aurora Communications Center today, August 11th.

We hope in some small way to brighten the day (and night) of the first responders and bring some measure of comfort to the families of the victims.

Look What World of Charity Stitching . . .

Look what our group, World of Charity Stitching, has been doing this summer.  While we try to stay cool and dry, we are stitchin' up a storm.

If you'd like to contribute your talents and time to a worthy cause, join us for some fun themes we are working on.

Currently we have a couple of new databases open for stitching:  Birdhouses and Forest Animals.  And we continue to stitch for the open themes.  These squares will be made into quilts for children or senior citizens.
